As a kid, I spent a lot of my free time in the local woods that surrounded our town. It was a place that afforded quiet, freedom, a sense of mystery, and endless opportunities for exploration. All I had to do to get there was to walk out the back door of the house where my mother still lives and mosey down to the end of the of the short dead-end lane. My childhood friends and I walked, bushwhacked, and imagined bears. As a teen on my high school track team, I jogged on the trails year-round. And now, when I go back to visit, I invariably wander there with a camera, far from the urban cacophony of my home in Brooklyn, to hear the quiet discourse of the trees and all their companions.

Stunning work, Jacques. It must have taken hours to put this together, every entry a decision, each one more delicate yet intricate than the next. Thanks .
